Club Sib will return in the September 21st!
Where elementary aged siblings of children with developmental disabilities discover they are part of an exclusive club!
Being a sibling can be hard but it also can be rewarding as well. The purpose of Club Sib is to provide a positive, safe, and supported environment for children to have fun, learn from each other, and discover new things about themselves and maybe even their siblings.
Who can participate?
The child must meet all three criteria to participate in Club Sib:
(1) Child who does not have a developmental disability themself;
(2) Has a sibling with a developmental disability;
(3) Is in Kindergarten- 5th grade (or home school equivalent)
Club Sib is a monthly social and recreational program, it is not a counseling program; however, topics surrounding their shared experience may be discussed. Each session will include a team building exercise, games, a small group activity focused on the child’s interests, a fun craft or movement exercise, a small group shared experience activity. During the small group activities there will be opportunities for siblings to share – only if they want too. Club Sib will be facilitated by college students studying Psychology, Education, Social Work or a related field. Registration is required to attend each event.
