One Child is an Autism Center in name only as we were founded by two families of autistic children. Today, One Child provides therapeutic and recreational services to children with various developmental differences. One Child is seeking therapists to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing the highest level of care for children in all developmental stages! We are currently seeking:

Occupational Therapist (FT/PT)

Responsibilities:
• Delivers occupational therapy services in accordance with AOTA’s standards and policies; the nature and scope of occupational therapy services must be in
accordance with laws and regulations.
• Assures continued competency by establishing, maintaining, and updating professional performance, knowledge, and skills.
• Provides direction for certified occupational therapy assistant in a collaborative manner as defined by official AOTA documents and in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Maintains current knowledge of legislative, political, social, cultural, and reimbursement issues that affect patients and the practice of occupational therapy.
• Is knowledgeable about research in the practitioner’s areas of practice.
• Systematically assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of occupational therapy services and designs and implements processes to support quality service delivery.

Preference Given to Those:
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist or ability to obtain state licensure within 60 days.

Compensation will correspond with experience.

Speech-Language Pathologist, CCC (FT/PT)

Professional Requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • ASHA(CCC) Certification
  • Active VA State license required
  • Active CPR Certification

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts screenings and evaluation(s)
  • Develops and executes treatment plans
  • Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner
  • Communicates effectively all applicable health information and treatment
  • Knowledge of insurance billing requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Work independently with little direction;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports;
  • Work confidentially with discretion.

Preference Given to Those:
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or ability to obtain state licensure within 60 days.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Behavior Technician

Seeking Behavior Technicians to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or emotional and behavioral issues. A Behavior Technician maintains a caseload of clients to be seen in various settings (e.g., home, center) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Most clients are seen before or after school, although there are opportunities for Behavior Technicians to work during school hours.

One Child is seeking Full Time and Part Time candidates. 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or currently seeking a Bachelor’s Degree) or 2 years experience working with children; if you have not completed RBT training, you will be required to do so.
  • Experience working with children with autism or other developmental disorders
  • Ability to work with clients across a variety of settings—center-based, in-home, and community settings (parks, stores, etc.)
  • Good communication skills and professional demeanor; ability work as a member of a team
  • Works closely with BCBA(s) to support client needs
  • Excellent organizational, written, communication skills
  • Ability to take efficient data and complete required documentations
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time and up to 20 miles from the center
  • Available to work evenings (3-8 pm) and Saturdays
  • Must have a valid drivers license, valid car insurance, and have personal reliable transportation
  • Must be able to submit to a background check and have a good driving record
  • Certification in CPR

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs (average weight of child) and comfortable sitting on the floor
  • Must be able to walk, run, and play with children

Preference Given to:

  • Prior ABA experience
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field (education, psychology, applied behavior analysis)
  • RBT certification
  • Seeking BCBA or BCaBA certification supervision
