Where elementary aged siblings of children with developmental disabilities discover they are part of an exclusive club!
Being a sibling can be hard but it also can be rewarding as well. The purpose of Club Sib is to provide a positive, safe, and supported environment for children to have fun, learn from each other, and discover new things about themselves and maybe even their siblings. Club Sib meets one Saturday morning a month from 10am-11:30am.
Who can participate?
The child must meet all three criteria to participate in Club Sib:
(1) Child who does not have a developmental disability themself;
(2) Has a sibling with a developmental disability;
(3) Is in Kindergarten- 5th grade (or home school equivalent)
Club Sib is a monthly social and recreational program, it is not a counseling program; however, topics surrounding their shared experience may be discussed. Each session will include a team building exercise, games, a small group activity focused on the child’s interests, a fun craft or movement exercise, a small group shared experience activity. During the small group activities there will be opportunities for siblings to share – only if they want too. Club Sib will be facilitated by college students studying Psychology, Education, Social Work or a related field. Registration is required to attend each event.
